An acrobatic silhouette performance behind white screens in a white room lined with a white gravel runway. A romantic kick-off, the second fashion show of Day 1 of Milan Fashion Week – Men’s Collections. Ermenegildo Zegna, easily one of the most anticipated of the men’s schedule had journeyed through the orient for Fall/Winter 2011 and found its way back home to the Italian Riviera for Spring/Summer 2012. A tip of the hat to Asia by way of the aforementioned shadowy performance and the luxurious silk blends? Perhaps. Dominated by a muted palette of subdued pastel colours, fitted two-buttoned suits, and sophisticated men’s leather bags and iPad cases, each model made his way down the runway confident, debonair, masculine. Highlights of the collection: The washed pastels, perfectly fitted suits, suede shoes, striped dress shirts, leather strap sandals, synthetic-looking textured suits, and the double-breasted four-button Kent jackets. That’s amore!
