RAC Boutique: Vivienne Westwood’s Anglomania Spring/Summer 2011

Last night we celebrated all things Vivienne Westwood in Toronto’s swanky Yorkville district. Rather fitting, considering it was the fiery red-headed design maven’s 70th birthday. Glenna Weddle and Faith Orfus, co-owners of RAC Boutique, hosted Anglomania Spring/Summer 2011 – the Toronto launch of Westwood’s Spring/Summer 2011 collection. Available exclusively at RAC in Toronto, select pieces from Westwood’s SS11 collection were featured in an installation befitting of New York’s 5th Ave., styled by George Antonopoulos. Westwood designed cushions and rugs courtesy of Avenue Road and The Rug Company were also on display. None of the Vivienne Westwood Men’s Collection is in stock at the moment, but there are plans to introduce menswear to the trendy boutique very soon.
Plenty were on hand to support Glenna and Faith, including a rather stand-offish Glen Baxter (In Fashion), local fashion lovers, good friends of the duo, and a slew of twittering bloggers invited by It’s All Style To Me. We listened to Brit Pop and Rock tunes while sipping on some fancy fruity cocktails served up by two of the hottest bartenders I’ve ever seen in Toronto. Always a fan of punk fashion pioneer and my ex-Clapham neighbour’s work. Hope RAC gets some of Vivienne’s menswear in there soon.
